About The Roly Rouleur

Cyclist, cake lover, coffee hound, whiskey drinker, husband and dad, just not necessarily in that order!!

I am overweight, nay some would say fat, in fact the highly accurate (tongue firmly in cheek) BMI index classes me as clinically obese. Whatever the phrase or term I admit I need to lose weight, particularly if I am ever to fulfil my dream of conquering Mont Ventoux or demonstrate my Contador like climbing grace on the Passo di Mortirolo.

Overweight you say but by how much. Well at a not too tall, not to short, Goldilocks height of 1.75 metres, but a depressing weight of 1 keg of German beer, and oodles of Würst, also known as 102kg I could certainly stand to lose 20kgs or so.

So this is my blog, The Roly Rouleur, where I will talk about my attempts to shed some of this German product associated weight, discuss training and challenges, and bore you with the rides I do. There are also pages for charity events i somehow manage to agree to and for what they are worth my thoughts on various cycling products as I convince my wife to let me buy new goodies (the least updated of my pages ;-)).

Most importantly though it is my little piece of the grand old world wide web to muse on all things cycling from thoughts on the latest news from the peloton to discussions on the big wide world of cycling, great climbs, good coffee stops and yes from time to time a moan or too.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts from an admittedly (at the very least) chubby, everyday cyclist.
