Band of Climbers – Review

As promised, as my way of making up for neglecting you for so long, here is my second post of the week.

This originally started life as a product review but I quickly realised that actually I was not really focusing on the product, but the brand and its owner (that’s not to say a certain product won’t get a mention because it will be but this is definitely about more than just that!)

With just under two months to go until the start of the spring classics, starting with, Milan-San Remo, cycling fans thoughts always turn to the hard men of the sport at this time of year, and the indelible mark these riders left behind.

Above all there is one nation that encompasses these tough guys more than any other (sorry Mr Hinault, its not France). From ‘The Cannibal’ Eddy Merckx and Johan Museeuw ‘The Lion of Flanders’ to current World Tour rider Tom Boonen, it is the men of Belgium that most encompass the spirit of these one day classics.

And it is this nation and these men that Stuart at Band of Climbers recognises in his great little start up company (you know I am a sucker for those!) With the tagline ‘British designed cycling prints and apparel inspired by the classic, climbs and cobbles’ you know exactly where you stand.

I got chatting with Stuart who is the owner of Band of Climbers a few weeks before Christmas (he has been trading since November 2015), and really liked what I heard and more importantly what I saw, lots of great prints all with their own unique attractions.

But what caught my eye originally is this little number;

A really nice minimalist print that I featured in my Christmas gifts for cyclists post. Clean lines, nice font, and a plea to ride like the legends of past present and future, how could you resist (even Mrs Rouleur likes it!)

After featuring it in this Christmas list of ideas, I ended up with a little surprise in the shape of an early A3 sized christmas present arriving at my door.

Customer service and satisfaction is clearly something at the forefront of Stuarts mind, so given that, as a customer you simply can’t go wrong. Trust me when I say that some of his other up and coming products are equally impressive.

So, that leaves me to ask, why are you still reading? Head over now to Band of Climbers on Etsy and buy yourself a bit of motivation and a nice bit of art too.

I can confidently say I will be exchanging my hard earned cash for more great pieces soon!! 10/10
